some Olympic notes

1. michael phelps?! he's so good. SO good.
2. since we're already talking about mp, why does his mom cry after every race? he hasn't lost a race since the 2004 Olympics. is she really that surprised when he gets a gold?
3. the US gymnastics team was bad this year.
4. the female beach volleyball players wear virtually nothing. basically, underwear.
5. where did handball come from?
6. i don't understand tennis, but it's fun to watch. except when they grunt. that's weird.
7. everyone is always so excited when the US wins. are there that many Americans in attendance?
8. i love that adult athletes' parents are always shown after a win. they're so proud, and rightly so.
9. eric and i have watched the games so much that i have the daily schedule memorized. kind of unfortunate, kind of awesome.
10. i love the Olympic design this year and i watched a special on how the logo was created. it was fantastic.
