Youth Retreats and Frozen Lakes

This weekend is the first junior high retreat of the winter and as you can see a lot is happening on the ice! The kids are playing broom hockey, a sport I have only ever played on a carpet floor or enclosed man-made ice rink. But when you combine a lake and really really cold winter, you get a frozen lake, perfect for kids to fully enjoy broom hockey.

I walked on the lake for the first time just now. It was very cool! I think I might do it again. :)
